JCRGuru — Android APK Build Instructions |
3
==================================================== |
4
5
STEP 1: Deploy your app first |
6
------------------------------- |
7
Your app must be live at a public HTTPS URL before building the APK. |
8
Deploy it using the "Deploy" button in Replit. |
9
Your URL will look like: https://your-app-name.replit.app |
10
11
------------------------------------------------------ |
12
OPTION A: EASIEST — Use PWABuilder (no coding needed) |
13
------------------------------------------------------ |
14
1. Deploy your app (Step 1 above) |
15
2. Go to https://www.pwabuilder.com |
16
3. Enter your deployed URL (e.g. https://your-app.replit.app) |
17
4. Click "Start" → select "Android" → click "Generate" |
18
5. Download the APK package |
19
6. Install on your phone or submit to Google Play |
20
21
That's it — no Android Studio needed! |
22
23
------------------------------------------------------ |
24
OPTION B: Build with Android Studio (full control) |
25
------------------------------------------------------ |
26
Requirements: Android Studio + Java JDK 17+ |
27
28
1. Open Android Studio → "Open an Existing Project" |
29
2. Select this "android-apk" folder |
30
3. Find every "YOUR_DOMAIN" in these files and replace with your deployed URL: |
31
- app/src/main/AndroidManifest.xml |
32
- app/src/main/java/com/jcrguidepro/app/MainActivity.java |
33
- twa-manifest.json |
34
Example: replace "YOUR_DOMAIN" with "your-app.replit.app" |
35
36
4. Build the APK: |
37
- In Android Studio: Build → Build Bundle(s)/APK(s) → Build APK(s) |
38
- Or in terminal: ./gradlew assembleDebug |
39
- APK will be at: app/build/outputs/apk/debug/app-debug.apk |
40
41
5. Install on your Android phone: |
42
- Enable "Install from Unknown Sources" in phone Settings |
43
- Transfer the APK to your phone and open it |
44
45
------------------------------------------------------ |
46
OPTION C: Use Bubblewrap CLI (Google's official tool) |
47
------------------------------------------------------ |
48
Requirements: Node.js 14+, Java JDK 8+ |
49
50
1. Install Bubblewrap: |
51
npm install -g @bubblewrap/cli |
52
53
2. Initialize (in this folder): |
54
bubblewrap init --manifest=https://YOUR_DOMAIN/manifest.json |
55
56
3. Build the APK: |
57
bubblewrap build |
58
59
------------------------------------------------------ |
60
STEP 2: Set up Digital Asset Links (for TWA to work properly) |
61
------------------------------------------------------ |
62
After building your APK, you need to link it to your domain: |
63
64
1. Get your APK's SHA-256 fingerprint: |
65
keytool -list -v -keystore android.keystore -alias jcr-guide-pro |
66
67
2. Open your Replit project → server/routes.ts |
68
3. Find the /.well-known/assetlinks.json route |
69
4. Replace 'YOUR_SHA256_FINGERPRINT_HERE' with your actual fingerprint |
70
71
Without this step the app will still work but will show a browser toolbar instead of being truly fullscreen. |
72
73
------------------------------------------------------ |
74
Google Play Store Submission |
75
------------------------------------------------------ |
76
1. Create a Google Play Developer account ($25 one-time fee) |
77
2. Build a signed release APK or AAB: |
78
./gradlew bundleRelease |
79
3. Follow Google Play Console instructions to publish |
80
