v1.7.11
Code review reads the new push and skips the noise
v1.7.11 is about the automatic reviews siGit Code Review runs when a pull request changes.
A new push is reviewed from the last reviewed head
When a pull request already has a review and you push on top of it, the next automatic review now looks at what changed since the reviewed head, not the whole pull request again. Comments still land only on lines in the pull request's own diff, and the review footer says which head it started from. A force-push or rebase, a push with nothing reviewable in it, and any review you ask for by mention still get a full review.
A small push to a large pull request is now priced by the size of the push.
Automatic reviews wait for pushes to settle
Every push used to start a review right away, so three quick pushes made three reviews, two of them for heads that were already out of date. An automatic review now starts 90 seconds after the push, on GitHub and on sigit.si, and a burst of pushes ends in one review of the latest head. A review you ask for by mention still starts at once.
Bot pull requests and lockfile-only changes are skipped
An automatic review now skips a pull request opened by a bot, and a change where every file is a lockfile, a vendored or generated file, or has no text diff. The pull request gets one note saying why and naming the setting that turns it off. A review you ask for is never skipped.
The setting is "Review bot pull requests and generated files", off by default. For a GitHub installation it is next to the installation on your settings page. For a repository on sigit.si it is on the repository's settings page.
Lockfile-only changes also stop getting the "too large to review" note.
